Rhine-Moselle-Eifel cycle tours
Welcome to Mayen-Koblenz!
Cycling is the ideal way to explore the vacation region between the Rhine, Moselle and Eifel. Discover our popular river cycle paths on the Rhine and Moselle, experience urban life in Andernach, Bendorf and Mayen, enjoy the peace and space of the rural idyll of the Maifeld - all just a pedal stroke away.
Signposted Rhine-Moselle-Eifel cycle tours such as the Nette-Obst-Radrunde, the Mosel-Maifeld-Radroute or the new Vulkanschleife Basalt lead cyclists along known and unknown paths along Eifel volcanoes, vineyards, orchards or yellow blossoming rape fields, through historic village centers, past mills and over disused railroad lines with tunnels and viaducts.
Tour suggestions
All the cycle tours presented here are equipped with continuous signposting and route plaques.
Maifeld cycle path
Pale green and blooming in spring, providing shade in summer and full of colorful foliage in autumn: the Maifeld cycle path winds its way through the fertile landscape of the Maifeld like a green tunnel. Cyclists, hikers and inline skaters use the almost gradient-free cycle path on the former railroad line between Münstermaifeld, Polch, Ochtendung and Mayen.
Moselle pleasure cycling
Starting at the train station in Winningen, the route runs directly along the foot of the steep slopes of the historically grown terraced vineyards. The landscape with its slate cliffs, dry stone walls and castles alternates with the winding, half-timbered villages. In the last section from Kattenes, the cycle route runs along the Moselle.
Nette-Obst cycle tour
The backdrop of the Neuwied Basin characterizes the entire tour – all in white during the cherry blossom season! The cultivation of elderberries is something very special here. Contrasts make the tour so attractive – the Rhine valley and the hills of the Eifel, intensive farming and the peaceful orchard slopes.
Moselle-Maifeld cycle route
After starting at the Moselle, a narrow road leads through the Schrumpftal valley, accompanied by the small stream that meanders leisurely through the wooded valley. Again and again you pass former mills with small meadow clearings. The detour from Pillig into the Elz valley offers a “wild” contrast.
Volcano Park cycle path
A cycle tour through the idyllic Eastern Eifel is an experience for body and senses! On the Vulkanpark cycle path, cyclists gain an insight into the past and the history of our planet’s origins
Maifeld cycle route
The two Maifeld cycle route tips run along the former railroad line of the Maifeld cycle path. The starting point for both family-friendly tours is the old railroad station in Polch.
Long-distance cycle paths
Moselle cycle path
By the time the Moselle reaches the Mayen-Koblenz vacation region, the Moselle Cycle Route has already followed the loops and bends of the Moselle for almost 200 kilometers. Along the sunny Lower Moselle and shortly before it flows into the Rhine at the Deutsches Eck, one idyllic wine village follows another like a string of pearls.
Rhine Cycle Route
The cycle route along the mighty river opens up everything: intensively used regions and natural landscapes, historic town crossings and Rhine promenades as well as modern housing estates. In this section, you will pass through the Rhine arch communities of Spay, Brey and Rhens as well as the wide basin of the Neuwied Basin with the towns of Weißenthurm and Andernach and experience the romantic Middle Rhine Valley with its castles and historic towns.
