In the footsteps of the Romans

On the road on the adventure routes

Geology, culture or industrial history, the Rhine-Moselle-Eifel vacation region has a lot to offer. The signposted vacation and adventure routes combine accessible sights and wonderful landscapes to create a first-class vacation experience.

Follow the Romans on the "Roads of the Romans" and find out what it was like in ancient times, when settlements and impressive buildings were built on the banks of the Rhine and Moselle. Interesting flashbacks take you back in time and you can witness how bread was baked in the Gallic province. Why not try your hand at cutting a lump of basalt into shape?

The German Volcano Route brings you into contact with the region's volcanic heritage. Be a guest in the Laacher See National Geopark and the Vulkaneifel Nature and UNESCO Global Geopark and visit all the region's important geological, industrial-historical and, above all, cultural-historical sights along the 280 km route.

Nothing has shaped the face of the villages on the Rhine, Moselle and in the Eifel as much as Rhenish slate. Known far beyond the country's borders and exported abroad, the Eifel has become a center of the European slate industry. Let the Moselle Slate Route take you through a charming landscape to impressive buildings and marvel at the creative diversity of Moselle slate.

The adventure routes combine experience and enjoyment

Along the German Volcano or Moselle Slate Route, there is not only a lot to experience, but also a lot to enjoy. Countless restaurants and cafés look forward to your visit and if the planned route is too long, you can stay overnight in one of the hotels or accommodations and continue your journey the next day.
