Maifeld cycle route
Comfortably on the railroad line …
The two Maifeld cycle route tips run along the former railroad line of the Maifeld cycle path. The starting point for both family-friendly tours is the old railroad station in Polch.
Tip 1
Contrasts characterize the route to Mayen: at Nettesürsch you leave the wide Maifeld landscape behind you and immerse yourself in the wooded and rocky Nettetal valley with two illuminated tunnels and the imposing Nette viaduct.
Tip 2
Lined with trees and bushes, the section between Polch and Mertloch runs like a green tunnel through the gently undulating fields of the Maifeld. The almost flat path is only crossed by two small farm tracks – ideal for families with small children. Playgrounds in Polch and Mertloch right next to the cycle path invite children to let off steam. On warm days, the water playground in Mertloch is a great place to cool off.
