Moselle pleasure cycling
Experience wine culture …
Starting at the train station in Winningen, the route runs directly at the foot of the steep slopes of the historically grown terraced vineyards. The landscape with its slate cliffs, dry stone walls and castles alternates with the winding, half-timbered villages. In the last section from Kattenes, the cycle route runs along the Moselle.
The tour makes you want to take a break to enjoy this ancient cultural landscape from a culinary perspective. Especially in autumn, when the grapes ripen and the leaves of the vines change color, the Moselle valley shows its most beautiful, “golden” side.
On the return journey from Hatzenport to Winningen, the route leaves the vineyards and mostly runs directly alongside the main road. In Kobern-Gondorf and Winningen, however, the cycle path leaves the road for a section; here you have the opportunity to enjoy the quiet banks of the river. The Moselle Pleasure Cycling tour ends at Winningen railroad station, while the Moselle Cycle Path branches off shortly before towards Koblenz.
