Desire to climb

High up in the forest canopy

Float at lofty heights, feel like Tarzan high above the forest floor in the treetops and test your own limits. All of this is possible in the many climbing parks in the Rhine-Moselle-Eifel region.

Take up the challenge and shimmy from tree to tree. Always well protected and optimally trained by qualified staff, even the little ones can complete courses of varying difficulty.

Get close to nature and experience a great adventure high up in the treetops. And for the very brave, a speedy cable car awaits at the end to bring you back down to earth.

The climbing parks in Sayn and Mayen-Kürrenberg make it possible.

Bare rock as a challenge

But professional climbers also get their money's worth in the region. Where basalt lava was once quarried, more and more climbing enthusiasts are now seeking their own personal challenge in the "Ettringer Lay" and the "Kottenheimer Winfeld". The climbing tours are demanding and you should have the necessary previous experience, be sure-footed and have a head for heights.
Even inexperienced climbers should stop for a moment and watch the daring athletes defy gravity on the steep walls. It is always an experience.

Climbing in the former quarry

The former basalt quarries "Ettringer Lay" and "Kottenheimer Winfeld" have developed into an Eldorado for sport climbers. The grippy volcanic rock enables a variety of crack, intersection and edge climbing.
