Municipality of Weißenthurm
Sea of flowers and culture on the Rhine
Located in the Neuwied Basin, at the mouth of the Nette, Weißenthurm presents itself as a lively and young vacation region on the Rhine.
Ancient cultural sites, such as the Karmelenberg or the Goloring, offer many opportunities to relive the history of mankind from the Neanderthals to the Celts to the present day.
The region is one of the largest fruit-growing areas on the Middle Rhine. In spring in particular, the orchards are transformed into a sea of white blossom.
Not least because of this, you will get your money’s worth in the Nette river landscape with its wild and romantic stream valley. Explore the RheinBurgenWeg trail with the Marienkapelle chapel or the premium-quality “Streuobstwiesenweg” dream trail, as well as the many other local hiking trails.
In addition to the Rhine Cycle Path, you can explore the various facets of the municipality of Weißenthurm on around 60 kilometers of well-signposted and paved regional cycle paths and marvel at a multitude of sights.
The five local communities of Bassenheim, Kaltenengers, Kettig, St. Sebastian and Urmitz, as well as the two towns of Mülheim-Kärlich and Weißenthurm offer everything for a varied visit with their different faces.
